India has proposed a National Hydrogen Energy Mission that would aim to lay down Government of India’s vision, intent and direction for hydrogen energy and suggest strategy and approaches for realising this vision. The objective of the mission is to support development and widespread commercialization of green hydrogen technologies for meeting future demand for electricity, transportation and industry by creating volumes and infrastructure; demonstrations in niche applications; goal-oriented research & development; facilitative policy support; and symbiotic international linkages.

Innovation Norway is working in partnership with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to accelerate deployment of hydrogen technologies in the country. Norway can play a key role in supporting the National Hydrogen Energy Mission by technological and knowledge co operation in this field.

Team Norway and Norwegian Indo Centre of Excellence- Hydrogen, in partnership with TERI organised a webinar, ‘India -Hydrogen Landscape’ on 7th September 2021.

The webinar was aimed at showcasing the Indian hydrogen sector and the upcoming opportunities in production, storage and transportation of hydrogen.
